General info

DueDá Company is the creation of collaboration between two artists: Stevie Boyd, aerial acrobat and Giada Negroni, dancer and choreographer.

Stevie and Giada met at Teatro alla Scala during the production of A Dog’s Heart (Complcite, London) and while working together they had the chance to know each, appreciate the other’s work and discover that they both had a less than ordinary career path. Stevie is in fact completed studies in Biotechnology and Giada in Electronic Engineering.

Both decided to change their respective fields of specialisation to dedicate themselves to the arts. They chose the most difficult path, and together with their passion, embraced uncertainty and insecurity.

Stevie is Irish and attended the professional circus school, FLIC in Turin (IT) and specialised in rope or Corde Lisse. He has taken part in some opera productions in Teatro alla Scala, collaborates with Collettivo 320 Chili, co-founded collettivo S.A.K., took part in the circus documentary Grazing the Sky, and has performed in numerous events as a performer.

Giada began as a gymnast and later decided to dedicate herself to contemporary dance, studying both in Italy and abroad. She also has been in various productions in Teatro alla Scala, a tournée to the Bolshoi in Moscow, and has worked with Compagnia Giardino Chiuso, Wiebe Moyes Dance Project and performed in numerous events. She created the show “Tutta colpa di Cenerentola” in 2013 and in 2011 her choreography “Lo Specchio” was chosen for the CortoInDanza festival in Cagliari, Sardinia.

The duo informally came together in 2014 and is currently creating its first production: Diverged.

Dueda Company wishes to create a constant and fluid dialogue between dance, theatre and the circus arts. The objective is to unite the technical elements and expressivity of contemporary circus with the evocative power and the tradition of dance theatre. The acrobatic performance will not be an athletic movement just for the sake of it, but will be an integral part of the theatrical work, completing it and having its own specific dramaturgical significance.
